Eden Piggery Project Program
Eden Piggery Project Program
The project is a demonstration and it is for piglet breeding purposes to benefit the needy youth and widowed families, vulnerable people in the community and the Church in the economic empowerment aimed at poverty alleviation. The pig starts to breed at the age of six (6) months. Pregnancy lasts 113 days for a female a pig (sow) to give birth to piglets and it gives birth to piglets three times a year. It does helps members/ beneficiaries to raise income for them to solve the problems in their homes. The cooperative project is actually a revolving one. We are donating piglets and not asking selected beneficiaries to pay for them. The developed idea is that someone is given a piglet as a donation and we expect that a female piglet to be reared well so that it gives birth to piglets and the person given the piglet generates income from the sale of the pig products. The beneficiary only gives back one female piglet to the project of which it is given to another needy member and then the rest of the piglets remain with the beneficiary for his or her personal income. The challenges facing the project are Water Harvest tank, fencing the mother project with cemented hard poles and Cambrough breed (7) piglets are prayed for this project. Giving in a financial support in for a Grant or loan of $1200 shall be appreciated.
