Eden Afforestation Project (EDAP)

It is an initiative intended to tackle deforestation & climate change by planting as many trees as possible; whilst fighting poverty through economic usage of the planted trees, with a projected figures of 8 million by 2025.

At Tuweereza Eden Ministries, we know that environment is a custodian and plays a big role in biosphere and therefore any hazard content into it affects both flora and fauna diversity. Therefore we have come up with numerous contingencies to address the most common environmental challenges. Just as global warming has persistently become a global threat whose future impact cannot be exactly estimated we have embarked on a tree planting project.  Afforestation is the process of planting large numbers of tree on land which has few or no trees on it. We set up different tree nursery beds in different areas among our members where we get seedlings to distribute to our members and community to redress on environmental stress from the trees which are cut for wood fuel, timber and others.

The Planting trees relieve the environment in stress situation of deforestation and our members are encouraged to embrace the planting of native trees. We raise and distribute thousands of seedlings to provide communities with the fruit, fuel and shade communities need to thrive.

Our approach and ethos is rooted in the 3Es (Education, Economy, Ecology) which enables us to make sustainable & lasting impacts on people, profits & the planet. Trees provide the branches needed for housing, the fruit necessary for a healthy diet, a spot of shade from the hot African sun, and the wood needed for cooking a family meal. They are essential for the health and shelter of the vulnerable people in the destitute communities in Eastern Uganda. Just $150 can help provide 1000 seedlings to a barren village and help move us toward our goal.
